January 2 - 23, 2013
Garage Center for Contemporary Culture’s legendary Art Experiment returns.
Art Experiment creates a unique journey, offering new routes to explore contemporary culture. Taking inspiration from the universe and exploring the relationship between the microscopic and the macroscopic, artists create installations that help visitors to discover new ways of seeing the world. Visitors are instructed to ‘be imaginative, be creative and be prepared’.
The annual event, which began in 2010, enables visitors to interact with art in new and unexpected ways.
Garage, founded by Dasha Zhukova in 2008, is a major non-profit arts project based in Moscow, dedicated to exploring and developing contemporary culture. In 2012 Garage moved from its original home in the Bakhmetevsky Bus Garage to the Gorky Park in Moscow in a temporary pavilion by Shigeru Ban. Garage aims to bring important international modern and contemporary art to Moscow, to raise the profile of Russian contemporary culture internationally and encourage a new generation of Russian artists. It also organizes and supports a wide range of cultural projects internationally.
