The
Museum House by Li Edelkoort
5 October 2006 / 29 January 2007
Kunstpaviljoen, Nieuw
Roden
Kunstpaviljoen in Nieuw Roden presents: The Museum House - Lidewij Edelkoort's
choice.
The exhibition presents the consumer as the curator of his or her own
existence and
shows the work of both promissing and established names from the international
design world.
We are living and live more and more with all kinds of collections. The
interior of many houses displays a variety of designs, familypieces, Ikea
and Habitat products. The collections in our houses show who we are, what
we like. We become the curator of our own collection and create our own
'museum house´. Everyone is free to make their own choices.
Lidewij Edelkoort's choice is inspired by the history of nature, cabinets
of curiosities and the fascination for the abstract form. Designs such
as the Mirror chair by Tord Boontje or the Belinda cowchair by Julia Lohmann
go alongside with designs by Hella Jongerius, Frank Gehry and Ravage.
